Gears of War 2 easily surpassed the 2-million mark on its opening weekend and now four short weeks later it has passed the 3-million mark. We’re not talking shipping copies either, but actually sold.
Epic Games VP Mark Rein said in an e-mail, “Microsoft [the game’s publisher] confirmed to me this afternoon that Gears of War 2 sell-through surpassed 3 million units as of last week.”
The original Gears took roughtly 10-weeks to surpass the 3-million copies mark, and is sitting up near 5-million sold to date. I guess this means we can expect a Gears of War 3 in our future.
