With the success of Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelations it’s no surprise the studio grabbed Sony’s live-action adaptation of the franchise.
The project was in development for years over at Sony, but with Netflix plans to move swiftly on the live-action version of Masters of the Universe with plans to get cracking this summer. They’ve even cast Adam / He-Man. Kyle Allen who just starred in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story.
He seems a little small to be He-Man, in my opinion. Perhaps he’ll only be playing Prince Adam.
Adam and Aaron Nee (The Lost City) will still direct based the script they co-wrote with David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Wonder Woman 1984).
The last live-action version came out in 1987 and starred Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella and was nothing like the cartoon’s that led to it’s creation.
