Its looking like they are pretty confident about the script that is being penned by Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner, who just finished writing a script for “Deathlok,” which is a Paramount-based adaptation of another Marvel Comics title about a man who is transformed into a machine. Elektra will rely heavily on the Frank Miller-created “The Elektra Saga“.HELLBOYBlade II director Guillermo del Toro will be bring us Hellboy, the adaptation of Mike Mignola’s comic. Here’s a brief synopsis if the movie:

Hellboy born in the flames of hell, and brought to our world in a pagan ritual, the fierce red hero, Hellboy (Ron Perlman), was saved by his friend and mentor, the benevolent Dr. Broom (John Hurt). Raised in Broom’s Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, Hellboy joins the likes of the “Mer-Man” Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), the woman he loves who can psychically control fire, and Myers, the FBI agent who is his rival for Liz’s affections. Together, our heroes must come to terms with fantastic powers that prove to be both a blessing and a curse. In the process they discover that their abilities serve to benefit mankind but may also keep them forever isolated from the society that only they can protect.

Created by Mike Mignola in 1994 for Dark Horse Comics. (thanks to SuperHeroHype.com)SUPERMANCountingDown.com has some news about the ongoing battle to bring Superman to the big screen. They have posted an interview with JJ Abrams who is in charge of the script. He says that the story has changed quite a bit from the version of the script that made its way around the internet. He states that he is a lifelong fan of Superman and he took a stab at the movie because he was disappointed in the superhero movies that have come before. I fought for the job. I thought it could be really good despite it being Superman.” Further, it’s been widely reported that director Brett Ratner left the project because he and the studio couldn’t agree on casting–Ratner wanted an unknown, the studio wanted a known quantity. What’s his stance? “Smeone was born to play Superman, and they will get the role whether it’s someone you know or don’t.INDIANA JONES 4According to Spielberg and Indy himself, production will be launched next year on the 4th installment of the whip-cracking archaeologist, Indiana Jones. Thanks to CountingDown.comBLADE IIILatinoReview.com tells us that the man who wrote all three installments of New Line Cinema’s Blade series, will finally get his change to helm the project. David Goyer’s Blade III, has Blade trying to reverse an apocalyptic event that threatens to bring Earth under the vampires’ control. Goyer is also writing Warner Bros new Batman flick that promises to be a prequel to the previous 4. STAR WARS: EPISODE IIIIf you are looking to get an early peak at the 2005 release, then grab your credit card and head on over to Starwars.com. Starting June 10th, you will see some changes at the site. Including a feature called HYPERSPACE which features a web cam on the Australian set of Ep 3, breaking news, and a lost scene from “Attack of the Clones.” All this and more can be yours for $19.95…or you can try it out during a free preview period from June 5th till June 9th. Also, darkhorizons has posted some tidbits from the latest SW Homing Beacon news letter which included an interview with designer Ian McCraig about the last prequel and he has thrown in a bit of *SPOILERS* about the new plot and Anakin’s fall into darkness.”In Episode I, when we saw Jake Lloyd, we wondered where’s the dark side? Why isn’t this kid creepy? And then, in Episode II, Hayden Christensen came across as a justifiably angry teenager more than a kid who crosses over to the true dark side. Killing the Sand People… they killed his mom! I could go mad and do something like that. So, I kept waiting for the dark side to take hold. In this film, you realize, it’s more about Anakin making the wrong choices. He’s given a glorious moment by George — I’m so happy with part of the script — where he truly has to make a choice. In the end, I think that’s a smarter way to go than a slow transformation. It’s more tragic this way“. McCraig also talked a bit about designing Amidala’s costumes this time around: “In Episode I, she was the Queen, and she was wearing disguises. I once said she should be able to slip out of the back of the costume, and you’d never know she was gone. Ironically, in this one, she’s back to wearing disguises. As well as now hiding this marriage to a Jedi, which is not allowed, she has to hide the fact that she’s going to have babies. All of the costumes had to disguise these facts“. MATRIX RELOADED ON DVD IN JUNE RUMOUR?According to CountingDown.com, there is a chance that we may see Reloaded on DVD in June. I don’t know how much weight I put on this, but read it for your self and make your own conclusions. June 2, 2003 – A Scooper tells Lights Out Entertainment what they heard on a Canadian Radio Show: “Hey there, this might be news, maybe not……heard this on a Toronto radio station up here in Ontario, Canada. Apparently, The Matrix Reloaded is coming to DVD in June? The filmmakers and Warner Brothers are concerned because bootleg copies of the movie can already be found on the internet. Plus the fact that theatregoers interest in the film has dropped below their expectations, they intend to rush it to home video and DVD, well ahead of the November release of the Matrix Revolutions film…” Source: Lights Out Entertainment DEVIL MAY CRYYou like the game? Then you’ll like the movie. It appears that Capcom and Gaga Communications have hooked up a film option deal to send the best selling game to the big screen. ‘Devil May Cry’ follows a hero named Dante who battles demons on Earth alongside is female companion Lucia. What’s the catch? Dante is half-human and half-demon. Gaga is aiming for a 2005 release date and has already thrown a $40 million budget towards the project. FAMILY GUY: THE MOVIE??Pretty sure I tracked this down on DH last week as well. Due to the tremendous sales from the Family Guy DVD, there is now talk of this show making a comeback. Not to the big screen…but a direct-to-DVD feature length movie is being considered by creator Seth McFarlane. In the mean time, Fox will release a second batch of episodes on disc later this Fall. If this is true…it’s going be so freaking sweet! And I’m spent…Tone
