Directed by David Slade (Hard Candy, Black Mirror) and produced by Robert Tapert (The Evil Dead), the film is based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Steve Niles. A brutal blend of siege horror and vampire mythology, 30 Days of Night has often been described as Assault on Precinct 13 meets I Am Legend, with a savage edge reminiscent of Near Dark.
Set in the remote Alaskan town of Barrow, where the sun vanishes for an entire month, the story follows Sheriff Eben Oleson (Hartnett) and his estranged wife Stella (Melissa George) as they fight to survive against a relentless vampire horde led by the terrifying Marlow (Danny Huston). As darkness engulfs the town, survival becomes a desperate battle against time—and the monsters lurking within it.
