Maple Pictures (Lionsgate) have announced the home entertainment release of the comic-to-film adaptation known as KICK-ASS . This news is kick ass as I loved the film in theatre and have been wanting to see it a few more times.
The DVD will include the following special features:
- A Commentary with Director Matthew Vaughn
- 2 Featurettes
- The Art of KICK-ASS
- It’s On! The Comic Book Origin of KICK-ASS
The Blu-ray will include all the above plus the following:
- Ass-Kicking Bonus View Mode
- 4-part A New Kind of Superhero: The Making of KICK-ASS featurette
- BD-Live Features
- A digital copy of the film
Now, you want to know when you can pick up your very own copy of KICK-ASS. How does August 3rd sound? Sounds great to me.
In the meantime, I leave you with this awesome Blu-ray cover art.
Note: Why do studios feel the need to release the DVD copy and the Blu-ray these days? If they included the DVD in the packs, as above, which Disney, Warner and Fox have been doing for a while they could boos the sales of Blu-ray and then people would be future ready. Home users who only have a DVD player would be all-set when the upgrade to a Blu-ray player down the line.
