Warner Bros. has announced the companion DVD to the upcoming Watchmen theatrical release which tells the story of the comic within the comic – Tales of the Black Freighter. The animated feature had a 4.3 million dollar budget.
The following synopsis accompanied the press release:

The release will alos feature Under the Hood a Docu-style look at the Night Owl’s autobiography detailing the establishment and disbandment of the group of superheroes known as THE WATCHMEN.
So here’s what you’ll get on the DVD – The 26-minute R-rated Tales of the Black Freighter, Under the Hood, Story Within a Story: The Books of Watchmen, and A First Look at The Green Lantern. With the Blu-ray version you’ll get all that plus a Digital Copy.
