Bond. James Bond. On Hyped UpTM

Next week is a week to be Hyped UpTM about. There are plenty of hot DVDs coming out next week that some people can’t wait to get their hands on. I know, because I’m one of them.In this weeks edition of Hyped UpTM we take a look at some of these titles. Looking at the list of what DVDs will hit shelves next week, June 3rd, there are a few that stick out. We’ve had an opportunity to review at least one of them with hopes that the rest will show up soon.Die Another DayThe latest action adventure based on Ian Fleming’s superspy, James Bond, hits selves next week in a 2-disc Special Edition. Die Another Day, starring Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry, is one of the best Bond films in years to thrill audiences beyond their expectations. This 2-disc Special Edition is loaded with ample bonus features that would make any dvd-phile drool. Some of the best extras to accompany a film in years have been included such as: MI6 DataStream, Inside Die Another Day, and Equipment Briefing to name only a few. On this DVD you truly get behind the making of the film.If you would like more information on Die Another Day you can read our in-depth review.AnimatrixWatching the shorts online for this Anime feature is enough to make any Matrix fan want to own this DVD. Smart marketing on the part of Warner Bros. has enabled them to target their core audience only a few short weeks after the release of The Matrix Reloaded. With over 180-minutes of entertainment this 3-year groundbreaking collaboration feature nine short films. These shorts probe deeper into the world of the Matrix and even features vocal work by Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. With an alliance between Hollywood and Japanese animators the short Animatrix films are stellar. With the talent of such Japanamation artists as Yoshiaki Kawajiri, the writer/director of Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D: Shinchiro Watanabe, Koji Morimoto, the writer director of the Cowboy Bebop movie, and Mahiro Maeda the animation supervisor for the seminal Akira just to name a few. And of course we can’t forget the creators of the Matrix, the Wachowski brothers.Enough blabbering run out and pick this one up as soon as it hits shelves.T2: Extreme EditionI’m not sure how excited I am to see another Terminator 2: Judgment Day DVD hit the streets, but Artisan is release a high-definition version of the film this time. Of course, you need a computer to play the HD version, which is using a Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 file. Microsoft has managed to create a low-bitrate HD compression codec that allows high-def quality video to be on the same amount of disc space that a regular single-layer DVD uses. Only taking up 3 gigs on the disc no doubt it will look stellar. Here’s a complete list of specs for the DVD. I can say nothing more.
