A News article at Yahoo! News seems to point to yes. Movie studios are are going to be releasing D-VHS. A digital format that apparently will have twice the picture resolution. Could this mean the end for DVD? Not likely, D-VHS will still have the same problem with current tape products. Over time the tape will wear and you’ll lose that enhanced image. Plus it’s not likely that it will have Dolby 5.1 or DTS for the audio track. I guess only time will tell.
