Alliance Entertainment Secures Exclusive Amazon MGM Physical Media Deal in US & Canada

Alliance Entertainment has officially locked in a major new exclusive home entertainment distribution deal with Amazon MGM Studios Distribution, covering physical media releases across both the United States and Canada.

Announced January 12, the agreement positions Alliance as the physical media partner for upcoming titles like Fallout Season Two and Mercy, while also revitalizing Amazon MGM’s deep catalog with expanded Blu-ray and 4K UHD offerings.

This isn’t just about new releases — it’s about legacy. The deal includes powerhouse franchises such as James Bond and Rocky, alongside modern classics like The Silence of the Lambs and Legally Blonde, ensuring these titles remain accessible to collectors, fans, and retailers in premium physical formats.

Alliance CEO Jeff Walker called the partnership a milestone moment, emphasizing the company’s focus on blending scale, technology, and collector-first thinking to reshape what physical releases can be in today’s market.

Amazon MGM Studios Distribution echoed that confidence. John Migliacci, Director of Digital and Domestic Distribution, highlighted Alliance’s proven strength in retail execution and fan-focused physical releases, noting that the partnership reinforces Amazon MGM’s commitment to delivering premium formats with strong service for both customers and retail partners.

Alliance EVP of Home Entertainment Robert Oram framed the agreement as an opportunity to properly honor Amazon MGM’s expansive library — from iconic franchises to upcoming releases — through thoughtfully curated physical editions, including collector releases and expanded 4K UHD presentations that celebrate the craftsmanship behind the films.

In an era where physical media continues to fight for relevance, this partnership signals something important: premium discs aren’t going anywhere — and with the right curation, they may be entering their most collector-focused era yet.
