The Mortuary Assistant Brings Supernatural Horror to Theatres and Shudder
Horror fans are invited to spend a terrifying night in the embalming room with The Mortuary Assistant, the chilling new film adaptation of the hit video game series, distributed by Shudder. The supernatural thriller arrives in theatres on February 13, followed by its streaming debut on Shudder on March 27.
A Night Shift That Turns Into a Nightmare
The Mortuary Assistant follows newly certified mortician Rebecca Owens, who takes on a late-night shift at a local mortuary, tasked with embalming bodies alone after hours. What begins as routine work quickly descends into terror as disturbing and unexplained events begin to unfold.
As the night grows darker, Rebecca uncovers evidence of demonic rituals, the sinister secrets of her mysterious mentor, and the buried trauma from her own past. With reality unravelling around her, she must fight to survive before her body becomes the next vessel for possession.

The film stars Willa Holland, Paul Sparks, Mark Steger, Shelly Gibson, Keena Ferguson Fraiser, and more. The Mortuary Assistant is written by Tracee Beebe and Brian Clarke, bringing the game’s unsettling atmosphere to the big screen.
