America’s Favorite Orange Unicorn Brings His Musical Mayhem to the Big Screen
Remember BUDDY? The bright orange unicorn who became the beloved star of the classic children’s television show It’s Buddy! is back—and this time, audiences are being invited to sing along.
BUDDY THE SING-ALONG VERSION arrives exclusively in theaters this Friday, October 2nd, giving fans the opportunity to experience the film together on the big screen.
More than 1,000 devoted fans gathered Tuesday night at the legendary Alex Theatre in Glendale, California, for a special gala screening of BUDDY THE SING-ALONG VERSION. Some fans were so determined to attend that they began lining up as early as 8 a.m., with others traveling more than 50 miles for the event.
The evening brought together director Casper Kelly, members of the cast, and plenty of fans dressed in costumes and outfits inspired by the film. The audience sang along, celebrated with BUDDY and his friends, and took part in what was billed as an immersive theatrical experience.

BUDDY Continues Its Box-Office Run
The Roadside Attractions and Saban Films release has already earned more than $26 million during its first five weeks in theaters, giving the independent horror film a surprisingly strong run at the box office.
BUDDY also delivered the year’s biggest opening for a film playing on fewer than 1,800 screens. That’s particularly notable for an independent, non-franchise, R-rated horror movie.
The film has now surpassed The Invite and currently stands as the highest-grossing acquisition from Sundance 2026.
For Saban Films, BUDDY has become the company’s highest-grossing film since its inception. It is also now the third-highest-grossing film in Roadside Attractions’ history, moving ahead of Judy. The company’s top two performers remain I Can Only Imagine and Manchester by the Sea.
