Before he was Scrooge, he was…
The official new trailer has arrived for EBENEZER, a dark fantasy reimagining of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale, with Johnny Depp stepping into the iconic role of Ebenezer Scrooge.
Directed by Ti West, the film puts a new spin on the familiar story while surrounding Depp with a cast that includes Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, and Ian McKellen.
A Different Look at Ebenezer Scrooge
Ebenezer Scrooge is still an elderly miser with little patience for Christmas, but this version digs into the man behind the name.
His life takes a supernatural turn after the spirit of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, appears and Scrooge is confronted by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come.
Forced to revisit the choices that shaped his life and face what awaits him if he refuses to change, Scrooge is given an opportunity to reconsider the future he has created for himself.
At the heart of the story is the possibility that even someone who has spent years pushing others away may still have a chance to find happiness.
