The Power of Grayskull is Coming Home: Travis Knight’s ‘Masters of the Universe’ (2026) Hits 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray—And Pre-Orders Are Live!

Physical media collectors, celebrate. In a move that is honestly a massive, incredibly welcome surprise, Amazon MGM Studios’ brand-new live-action Masters of the Universe film is officially getting a physical 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release, and pre-orders have just quietly gone live on Amazon.

Given that this is an Amazon property, the collective assumption among the home theatre community was that we’d be entirely at the mercy of prime-time bitrates, compressed Dolby Atmos tracks, and the eventual threat of the digital void. Instead, we are getting a dedicated, physical disc release right alongside its theatrical presence.

Why This Is A Major Win For Physical Media

When a tech giant like Amazon controls a massive franchise reboot, physical media collectors usually prepare for the worst. We’ve seen all too many streaming-exclusive titles get completely locked behind a subscription wall, never to see the light of a high-bitrate BD-100 disc.

To see Amazon lean into a premium 4K physical release proves that the demand for physical preservation and reference-quality home cinema experiences is too big to ignore. We don’t know the specs or the official release date yet. At least we’re getting a physical release.

Directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee), this new adaptation features Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) returning to a shattered Eternia to face off against Skeletor (Jared Leto), alongside Teela (Camila Mendes) and Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba). Knowing Knight’s visual style and penchant for incredible action sequences, this is going to be an absolute visual feast that deserves every bit of the uncompressed canvas that 4K UHD discs provide.

Release Details & Spec Check

  • Format: 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray (Steelbook Edition)
  • Studio: Amazon MGM Studios
  • Discs: 2-Disc Set (4K UHD + Blu-ray)

Note: Official cover artwork and specific technical specifications (HDR formats, audio codecs, and special features) are currently tucked away in Castle Grayskull and will be revealed by the studio at a later date.

Are you as surprised as we are that Amazon is giving this a proper 4K physical disc rollout instead of hiding it on Prime Video forever? Let us know if you’re locking in your pre-order down in the comments below!
