A24 Brings Canadian Horror To Theatres This March With Ian Tuason’s UNDERTONE

Undertone is a 2025 Canadian horror film written and directed by Ian Tuason in his striking feature directorial debut. The film stars Nina Kiri as Evy, a skeptical co-host of a paranormal podcast who balances out her believer partner, Justin (played by Kris Holden-Ried). While Justin embraces the supernatural, Evy relies on logic and reason, until her own life begins to unravel.

After returning to her hometown to care for her ailing mother, portrayed by Michèle Duquet, Evy is sent a series of unsettling audio recordings from a married couple who claim to be hearing unexplained, eerie noises inside their home. What begins as a routine investigation soon turns deeply personal, pulling Evy into a growing spiral of fear, paranoia, and emotional tension.

Blending psychological horror with atmospheric sound design, Undertone explores grief and the thin line between reality and the unknown, delivering a chilling, character-driven experience that lingers long after the final scene.

Coming to theatres Friday, March 13
