Set against the sun-bleached streets of Los Angeles, Crime 101 follows an elusive jewel thief, played by Chris Hemsworth, whose daring string of robberies along the iconic 101 freeway has left law enforcement baffled. As he sets his sights on the score of a lifetime, his carefully controlled world collides with that of a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) standing at a personal and professional crossroads.
Meanwhile, a relentless detective portrayed by Mark Ruffalo believes he has uncovered a pattern behind the crimes and is closing in fast. As the heist draws nearer, the tension escalates and the boundaries between hunter and hunted begin to blur. With the stakes higher than ever, all three are forced to confront life-altering decisions—and the realization that once the plan is set in motion, there is no turning back.
Crime 101 is adapted from Don Winslow’s acclaimed novella of the same name and is written and directed by Bart Layton (American Animals, The Imposter). The film also stars Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte, rounding out a powerful ensemble cast in this gripping crime thriller.
