Hulu is bringing audiences PHONY, a new coming-of-age mystery series starring Connie Britton and Sam Nivola.
The story begins after a teenage boy wakes up in the hospital following a car accident, only to discover that something about his mother doesn’t feel right. Before long, he starts questioning whether the woman claiming to be his mom is actually an impostor.
Something Isn’t Right at Home
After the accident, Sonny wakes up in the hospital expecting life to return to normal.
Instead, he is confronted with a disturbing possibility: his mother may have somehow been replaced.
As Sonny tries to understand what happened, his experience becomes more complicated, forcing him to question the people around him and what he thinks he knows about his own life.
The mystery becomes part of Sonny’s journey into adulthood, giving PHONY its blend of coming-of-age drama and mystery.
