We all heard about the fallout between Edward Norton and Marvel over him returning as Bruce Banner / Hulk. News has come from Deadline Hollywood that a new Banner has been cast and confirmation who is playing Hawkeye in The Avengers.
First, the new Hulk is Mark Ruffalo. It will (hopefully) be announced officially today during the Marvel panel, but has been confirmed by Nikki Finke saying:
I’ve just learned the ink is drying on the deal reached by Brillstein Entertainment Partners with Marvel.
Now, comes news directly from Joss Whedon, the confirmed director of the Avengers, that Jeremy Renner is in fact Hawkeye, as speculated. Check out the video below from OnTheRedCarpet.com
So, there you have it. Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner will join Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Thor), Robert Downey Jr (Tony Stark / Iron Man), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), and Scarlett Johanson (Black Widow). Currently, The Avengers is looking at a May 4, 2012 release date.
For now we can look forward to seeing what is offered for Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor.
I’m not sure how I feel about having a third actor play Bruce Banner, but I will hold judgment until I see the final product, or a clip of Ruffalo as Banner. How do you feel about this news.
