Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is guaranteed to be the family movie of the year.
With a blue speed freak, two Jim Carreys in a room together, and Keanu Reeves as the ultimate life form, Shadow the Hedgehog is one of the most inspired castings of all time.
The story continues from the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles must battle their most fearsome enemy, Shadow the Hedgehog. A black and red furry fury with a troubled and traumatic past, along with the return of Dr. Robotnik’s last living relative, his grandfather Gerald who has an insatiable thirst for world domination.
As a long-time fan of Sonic and Shadow, I was more than pleased with the adaptation of their classic rivalry on the big screen. I loved every reference used in the film, both obscure and well-known. The entire film almost acts as a love letter to Sonic Adventure 2. Any long-time fan or casual enjoyer is going to LOVE every visual, performance, sound effect, and reference that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has to offer.
