Even Stephen King Is Catching The Blu’s.

The two most recent theatrical releases of work based on Stephen King material are being released in the BluRay format. Come September 16, 2008 – 1408 and The Mist will be able to deliver all their thrills and chills in High Definition glory! Both films were well received and easily fit in the upper echelon of cinematic adaptations of King material. Click on the ‘Full Story’ link for the details.

 

Bonus materials and features look similar to the previous SD DVD releases. The great news for The Mist fans is that it will be a two disc release containing the much more atmospheric B&W cut.

The Mist BluRay will feature the following bonus materials:

* A Conversation With Stephen King and Frank Darabont
* Making Of featurette
* A Look at the Creature FX
* The Horror of it All: The Visual FX of The Mist

The 1408 Blu-ray will contain the following special features:

* Commentary by Director Mikael Hafstrom and Writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski
* Two alternate endings
* Deleted scenes with optional commentary
* The Secrets of 1408
* Webisodes with John Cusack on 1408
* Inside Room 1408

The Mist two-disc BluRay will street with a MSRP of $34.95 while 1408 will go for $29.95.
