So, after the Hulk panel I realize it hadn’t quite been an hour for the Hulk panel, and it was quite odd that Hellboy 2 was paired up with Wanted and The Hulk wouldn’t be paired up with, boy, I don’t know… Batman: Dark friggen Knight! Well, to the boisterous, and somewhat confused, crowd it turned out that we would indeed be treated to something new from the Dark Knight camp. Head inside to read more! The president of DC came out to address the crowd, he didn’t say much but introduced the clip, which started with a bit of old footage that is already ingrained in our brains from the Heath Ledger death coverage. We also got to see a bit more of the movie (apparently there is a subplot dealing with a bat type man or some such?). We saw a longer version of Rachel Dawes meeting The Joker. We also saw a love conflict between Rachel, Batman, and The Joker… could make this movie a bit more involved then the previous B-man movies!
No sign of Harvey Dent’s darker evil side, but we got a slight hinting at it, but clearly I was reading into it a bit more then most. The Joker was still featured a bit much; I understand he’s the bad guy, but still, CNN played this footage over and over again, and I couldn’t convince my fellow employees to change the channel in the break room!
This was a jaw-dropping trailer that had the audience on the edge of their seats. Will I be one of the nerds waiting outside the theater at midnight on opening day? Of course not! I’ll have press passes silly!
