Look’s like Universal is taking advantage of the recent Spielberg buzz about aliens and re-issuing E.T. The Extra Terrestrial on DVD.Sadly, it’s the crummy 2002 Lucas-ized version in which all the magic of the movie drained away and was replaced by fairly awful CGI visuals, hippies and menacing walkie-talkies.To get a look anyhow, move forward… I’m a fan of re-issuing a movie a few years after a barebones edition if worthwhile features and a noticeable improvement in the presentation is there, but double dipping for just money’s sake rubs me the wrong way. This new issue of E.T. will be a single disc release only and will hit stores again on August 23rd for $19.99, which is very odd. There are still plenty of copies of the previous 2-disc version sitting in my local Best Buy.None of the features that will be on it are new. Except the John Williams track will seem new to you fans who missed out on the Ultimate Gift Set version.Specs Include –
