Via Facebook Live this morning Walt Disney Animation announced Wreck-It Ralph 2. The only problem is we have to wait until 2018 to see Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz’s new adventure in the world of the internet.
Director Rich Moore announced that Phil Johnston who co-wrote the first film and smash hit Zootopia will be co-directing his first animated feature film. John C. Reilly (Ralph) also appeared on the live broadcast but the feed froze as he began to spoil the story (a joke by Disney that did not go over too well).
Here is what Phil Johnston had to say about the story:
The world of the internet is the perfect place to send Ralph and Vanellope. The scope and scale are so vast and the possibilities for comedy are endless.
Rich Moore gave further details via Disney.com
The relationship between Vanellope and Ralph, we’re going to see that again, and the comedy that comes with the two of them. We’re going to see their friendship tested by getting to the Internet. So everything you loved about the first one and a whole lot more.
Being the internet this can go anywhere… can’t wait to see where it goes come March 9, 2018.
